Contraception Services
Our GP and Practice Nurses can provide confidential contraceptive and emergency contraceptive advice to patients in all age groups. We also have trained practitioners who can fit coils (IUCDs) and contraceptive implants.
These services include:
- Advice on the most appropriate contraceptive method for you
- Emergency contraception (if the surgery is closed you can also talk to your local Pharmacy about emergency contraception)
- Cervical smears
- Well woman checks
- Supply of condoms
- Pregnancy tests
- Menopause advice
- Contraceptive injections
- Contraceptive pill
- Sexual health testing and advice
For men who wish to have a vasectomy, we can refer to local services.
Pregnancy
If you are planning a pregnancy or have just tested positive, our nurses are available by appointment to provide advice and information about Folic Acid, stopping smoking, diet, drug usage, alcohol and exercise during pregnancy.
Positive Health Clinics
We also have free and confidential drop in Positive Health Clinics on the second Thursday of every month between 3pm and 7pm where we can provide information and advice on good sexual health, including contraception
